Objective:

To minimise EL-Oils carbon footprint by implementing sustainable practices, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and fostering an eco-friendly approach across operations.

Key Areas of Focus:

1. Transition to Low-Carbon Energy Sources

Renewable Energy: Gradually shift all facilities, including offices and warehouses, to renewable energy sources such as solar panels.
HVO & Electric Vehicles: Begin transitioning delivery and company vehicles to HVO fuel and implement use of electric or hybrid models.
Energy Efficiency: Implement energy-saving lights like LED lighting, automatic light sensors, and smart thermostats to reduce overall energy consumption.

2. Sustainable Supply Chain Practices

Eco-Friendly Suppliers: Prioritise partnerships with suppliers who have low carbon footprints and follow sustainable practices.
Reduced Transport Emissions: Consolidate deliveries and optimise routes to decrease the carbon emissions associated with transportation. Encourage suppliers to adopt low-emission or green logistics options.

3. Waste and Resource Management

Recycling Initiatives: Expand recycling programs for materials such as paper, plastic, and oil containers. Aim for zero waste-to-landfill for non-hazardous waste.
Oil Waste Reduction: Implement improved oil collection and recycling procedures to minimise waste and prevent environmental contamination.
Packaging: Transition to eco-friendly and biodegradable packaging materials for all shipments.

4. Carbon Offsetting

Carbon Credits: Purchase verified carbon credits to offset any remaining emissions after reduction strategies have been applied.

5. Employee Engagement and Awareness

Training Programs: Educate employees on sustainable practices in the workplace, from reducing energy use to adopting zero-waste habits.
Green Office Culture: Encourage carpooling, and other environmentally conscious actions among employees to reduce the company’s overall environmental impact.

6. Carbon Footprint Monitoring and Reporting

Regular Audits: Conduct annual carbon audits to track progress and measure reductions. Use this data to continually adjust the carbon reduction strategy.
Transparent Reporting: Publicly share carbon reduction achievements and goals through company communications and annual reports to maintain transparency and accountability.
Target: To achieve up to 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and aim for carbon neutrality by 2040.
